Other places I would recommend are Old Tayler Grocery and Big Bad Breakfast. The square in Oxford has a lot of restaurants and bars. It's most likely going to be hot and humid during football season, if you live in an area where humidity is not a problem don't over look this.

When I was student you could park at the mall and take a shuttle to campus. Parking in Oxford on game day is going to be nutty. (I use Avis and have never had this problem with them.) The rental car officers are outside of the airport. I've seen any people show up at the rental desks past midnight with no one to help them. If your flight arrives late at night and you are renting a car at the airport, make sure to confirm their opening hours. It's much nicer with more food options now, but the hours are still pretty limited. The airport in Memphis was recently renovated. The Inn at Ole Miss is also very nice and close to the football field. I've lived in CA for 10+ years and often fly back to visit family in MS.
